Overview
Tal Teklan is one of the newest cities in OSRS, added with the release of Varlamore Part 3. It has a full bank, an altar, a blacksmith, and a handful of shops — but the standout is a great rune shop for ironmen, along with quick access to the Gemstone Crab. If you have access to the Quetzal Transportation System, you can fly there without building a landing site. Otherwise, as long as you have access to Varlamore, you can run there.
New ironman PSA: the Tal Teklan rune shop is the earliest way to get reliable access to a Cosmic rune shop — meaning you can stock up on cosmic runes without the long, dangerous run to the Mage Arena bank. If you’ve just reached Varlamore, this alone makes the trip worth it.
How to Get to Tal Teklan
1. Quetzal Transportation System
If you have access to the Quetzal Transportation System (requires completion of Twilight’s Promise), taking your Quetzal to Tal Teklan is the fastest method. The landing site is already built, so you’ll have access immediately. A Hunter whistle will put you right next to a Quetzal to take you over.
2. Running from Civitas illa Fortis
If you don’t feel like completing Twilight’s Promise for whatever reason, you can still get to Tal Teklan. Starting at Civitas illa Fortis, run northwest following the map below until you reach the boat. At the boat, you can take it straight to Tal Teklan — no payment required!
