Rogue’s Outfit Guide OSRS – How to Get It Fast

The Rogue Outfit is one of the most useful skilling outfits in Old School RuneScape. Wearing the full set guarantees double loot when pickpocketing NPCs, which makes it a must-have before any long term Thieving grind. Especially if you plan on doing Wealthy Citizens or Ardougne Knights. This guide shows the fastest way to obtain the Rogue Outfit through the Rogues’ Den maze.

• 50 Thieving
• 50 Agility

You’ll use Agility to run the maze obstacles and Thieving to crack the wall safes at the end, so you need both 50s to complete a full run.

Suggested: Level 80 Thieving unlocks a maze shortcut for faster runs. A stamina potion helps if your Agility is on the lower end.

Rogue Mask, Rogue Top, Rogue Gloves, Rogue Trousers, Rogue Boots

Full set effect: Guarantees double loot when pickpocketing.

• Required levels: 50 Agility (maze) + 50 Thieving (safes)
• Shortcut: Level 80 Thieving for faster runs
• Outfit pieces: Mask, Top, Gloves, Trousers, Boots
• Effect: Double pickpocket loot
• Avg time (50 Thieving): ~45–50 minutes
• Avg time (80+ Thieving): ~25 minutes

The Rogues’ Den is located in the basement of the Toad and Chicken Inn in Burthorpe. The fastest teleport is a Games Necklace to the Burthorpe Games Room.

If this is your first time entering the maze, speak with Brian O’Richard first — you only have to do this once. A stamina potion will help at lower Agility levels. Note that you cannot wear or carry any items when entering the maze, so bank everything beforehand.

RuneLite (Recommended)

If you’re using RuneLite, enable the Rogues’ Den plugin and all the safe tiles will be marked automatically, making the maze far easier to follow. On mobile, you can still mark tiles manually, though many players prefer to follow a video guide instead.

The Maze

If you’re on mobile or not using RuneLite, the easiest approach is to follow a video guide — the maze is much simpler when you can copy the route on-screen. You can also visit the Wiki for an obstacle-by-obstacle breakdown.

Level 80 Thieving Shortcut

At Level 80 Thieving or higher, you can take a shortcut near the start of the maze that cuts a single run from around 4 minutes down to just over 2 minutes — roughly halving your overall grind.

Wall Safes

At the end of the maze, crack any wall safe — it doesn’t matter which one. You can receive:

• Rogue Equipment Crate — lets you choose an outfit piece you still need
• Rogue Kit — basic tools
• No loot — you fail and get ejected

Higher Thieving levels increase how often you receive a Rogue Equipment Crate. Thanks to a recent update, the crate lets you pick the piece you’re missing, so there’s no risk of duplicates.

How long does it take to get the full Rogue Outfit?

With 50 Thieving, expect around 45–50 minutes. With 80 Thieving, it drops to roughly 25 minutes thanks to the maze shortcut. Higher Thieving also means more Rogue Equipment Crates, so the grind speeds up the higher you are — though you can still get unlucky.

Can you get duplicate pieces?

No. A recent update lets you choose the outfit piece you want from the Rogue Equipment Crate, so you’ll never roll a duplicate of something you already have.

Is the Rogue Outfit worth it?

Yes. The complete set doubles all pickpocket loot. If you plan on pickpocketing
Wealthy Citizens in Varlamore or Ardougne Knights, it’s 100% worth getting first — it pays for itself quickly in extra GP.
