Tempoross Calculator

Calculate Fishing XP, reward permits, time, and expected loot from Tempoross

About This Calculator

The Tempoross Calculator helps you plan your Fishing training by estimating how much XP you'll gain, how many reward permits you'll earn, what loot to expect from the reward pool, and how long it'll take to reach your target level or collect enough permits for a specific reward.

XP per action is calculated using the exact game formulas — a two-tier interpolation system where XP scales differently from levels 35–69 and 70–99. This calculator tracks level-ups during the grind so rates stay accurate as you progress.

How to Use

  1. Enter your details: Input your current Fishing level and XP, or use the lookup button to fetch them from the OSRS Hiscores
  2. Set your goals: Choose a target Fishing level and/or a target number of reward permits
  3. Configure settings: Choose your harpoon, strategy (cook vs. no cook), game mode (solo/mass), and toggle outfit bonuses
  4. Calculate: Click Calculate to see XP, permits, expected loot, GP value, and time estimates

Pro Tips

  • Cooking vs. Not Cooking: Cooking fish gives more points (and thus more permits/loot) but roughly 30% less Fishing XP per hour. Skip cooking for max XP.
  • Crystal Harpoon: Best XP rates — up to ~100k/hr at 99 Fishing without cooking. Dragon harpoon is ~85–90k/hr.
  • Solo vs. Mass: Solo gives more permits per hour (~5–10 permits/hr) but is more intensive. Mass worlds are more relaxed with slightly fewer permits.
  • Double Fishing Spots: Always prioritise the jumping harpoonfish spot (highlighted green on RuneLite) for double catches.
  • Spirit Angler Outfit: Acts as a rope (saving an inventory slot) and gives 2.5% bonus Fishing XP. Upgrade from Angler outfit with 1,200 spirit flakes.
  • Reward Pool: Loot quality scales with your Fishing level at the time you open permits, not when you earned them. Save permits if you're about to level past a threshold (e.g., 81+ for manta rays).

Your Goals

Set a target level, a permit count, or both. The calculator will run until whichever goal takes longer.

Configuration

Crystal harpoon gives the best XP rates. Infernal harpoon auto-cooks 1/3 of fish, making it ideal for a cooking strategy. Solo mode gives more permits per game but is more intensive.

Spirit Angler replaces Angler — they don't stack. Both give 2.5% bonus Fishing XP. Spirit Angler also acts as a rope.
