How to Make a Clockwork in OSRS

Looking to make a clockwork to start doing some birdhouse runs or to make a penguin suit for the Cold War quest? Don’t fear, we have you covered! This quick 5 step guide will take you less than 5 minutes and let you know all the level and item requirements for making clockwork mechanisms.

Level Requirements

• 25 Construction
• 8 Crafting

Item Requirements

• Player Owned House
• 10,000gp if you don’t have a Workshop
• 1 Steel Bar
• 4 Oak Planks
• 1 Molten Glass
• 1 Steel Bar
• Hammer + Saw

Step 1.

If you don’t already have a POH, it is time to get one. You can visit any estate agent and pay 1000gp or complete the miniquest Daddy’s Home to get one for free. The easiest estate agents to access are in Varrock or Falador.

Step 2.

Once you have a POH, bring your hammer and saw, 10k (if you don’t have a workshop), 4 oak planks, 1 molten glass, and 1 steel bar per clockwork mechanism you want, and enter your POH in build mode. Choose any room hotspot and choose the Workshop.

Step 3.

After the Workshop is built, go over to the Clockmaking space to build and then choose Crafting Table 1

Step 4.

Next, upgrade the Crafting Table 1 to a Crafting Table 2.

Step 5.

Finally, you can left click on the Crafting Table 2 and craft a clockwork mechanism. Each one costs 1 steel bar. If you are making birdhouses, remember that you will get that back each time you dismantle a birdhouse. So you only need 4 in total to do birdhouse runs forever!
